Vinyl Primer VP1 is a polyurethane based primer. When applied to PVC Vinyl it acts as a barrier to the plasticiser inherent in these types of materials. Overtime the plasterciser in the vinyl is released and this softens the rubber content of the contact adhesives, resulting in bond failure. VP1 not only provides a barrier to the plasticiser but it also enhances the bond of the contact adhesive to the vinyl backing.
Applications:
This primer is suitable for use on most PVC Vinyls either backed or unbacked. It is compatible with most polyurethane and polchroprene based contact adhesives in either aerosol, brush-on or canister applied format.
